As a Professional Organizer, I notice the patterns on what people really need help organizing. One of the things that is very common is for people to not have their buttons organized. I find them everywhere! I mean, E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E!
And it’s so frustrating when you buy a clothing item, it comes with the replacement button, you’ve seen it around your home a bunch of times but when you need it you can’t find it after you search frantically in all the spots you remember seeing it.
Well, to avoid this from happening in the future, all of your buttons can now be in 1 spot. When you need one, you can go right to it, and they are all ready for ya. So without making things complicated, there is a very easy way to keep them organized.
Using a large safety pin. Each one holds a few of them so you can group them together.
Paper clips. Unbend, string them on and tie the ends.
Small, clear jewelry bags. Found these at Staples. Take a thin permanent marker and write what each item the button goes to.
I put them all in a cute little index card holder. It makes it very easy for me just to look in and can easily see where everything is when I need “a white button”, or whatever it may be.
To complete my project, I used my pink labels, made with a Brother P-Touch 1090 labelmaker, and put one on the side:
…..as well as the front.
By doing this, you will save yourself time, money and frustration!
******I would love to hear how you organize your buttons. Please leave a comment!
